Therapy for Teens
Helping teens navigate life's challenges with support, understanding, and practical tools for growth.
Being a teenager isn't easy.
The teen years come with a lot of change. School, friendships, family relationships, future plans, social media, extracurricular activities, and growing independence can all bring excitement—but they can also feel overwhelming.
Sometimes it can be hard to know where to turn. Therapy offers a space where teens can talk openly, feel heard without judgment, and learn practical ways to navigate life's challenges.
I provide therapy for teens in St. Louis for adolescents ages 16 and older, creating a supportive environment where they can build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and better understand themselves during this important stage of life.
Anxiety or excessive worry
Low self-esteem or lack of confidence
Your teen might be experiencing…
Stress related to school, sports, or extracurricular activities
Friendship, family or relationship challenges
Difficulty managing emotions
Life transitions or uncertainty about the future
How Therapy Can Help
Every teen deserves a place where they don't have to have everything figured out.
Therapy provides space to slow down, make sense of difficult emotions, and build skills that support both current challenges and future growth. Together, we'll work to better understand what's going on beneath the surface while developing practical tools that teens can use in everyday life.
Together, we may work on:
Managing anxiety and stress
Building confidence and self-esteem
Strengthening emotional awareness and coping skills
Improving communication with parents and others
Navigating friendships and relationships
Developing healthy ways to handle life's challenges
My Approach
Building trust is one of the most important parts of working with teens.
My approach is collaborative, grounded, and practical. I strive to create a space where teens feel respected, heard, and supported—not judged or pressured. Therapy isn't about someone telling them what to do. It's about helping them better understand themselves, develop practical skills, and feel more confident navigating life's challenges.
Parents are an important part of the process, and when appropriate, I work collaboratively with families while also respecting the privacy that helps teens feel safe and engaged in therapy.

Therapy is most effective when teens have a space where they can speak honestly. While parents are important partners in the process, I also respect confidentiality. If there are concerns related to safety or situations where additional support is needed, those conversations will always be handled thoughtfully and appropriately.

Parent involvement looks different for every family. We'll discuss expectations together and determine what level of communication best supports your teen's goals while maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship.

Finding New Ground
Growing up doesn't come with a map.
Finding new ground isn't about having all the answers—it's about learning to trust yourself one step at a time. Therapy offers a place to ask questions, make mistakes, build confidence, and discover who you are becoming.
Every path looks different, and you don't have to figure yours out alone.
