Life Transitions
Support through life's expected and unexpected seasons of change.
When life changes, it's okay to need support.
Life is full of transitions. Some are exciting and long anticipated. Others arrive without warning. Even positive changes can bring uncertainty, stress, or grief as you adjust to a new reality.
You may be graduating, starting a new career, becoming a parent, navigating an empty nest, experiencing the end of a relationship, caring for aging parents, or simply feeling like the life you've known no longer fits.
Change doesn't always come with a clear roadmap. Therapy offers a space to slow down, process what you're experiencing, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
I provide life transition therapy for teens (16+) and adults throughout the St. Louis area, helping clients navigate expected and unexpected seasons of change with compassion and practical support.
Feeling uncertain about what comes next
Feeling disconnected from yourself or your sense of purpose
You might notice...
Difficulty making decisions or trusting yourself
Increased stress, overwhelm, or emotional exhaustion
Grief for a chapter that's ending, even if you're excited about what's ahead
Wondering how to move forward without losing yourself
How Therapy Can Help
Periods of transition often ask us to let go of something familiar while stepping toward something unknown. That can feel both hopeful and unsettling at the same time.
Together, we'll create space to process what's changing, understand the emotions that come with it, and reconnect with the values and strengths that can guide your next steps. Rather than rushing toward answers, we'll focus on helping you move through this season with intention and self-compassion.
Together, we may work on:
Processing change and the emotions that come with it
Navigating uncertainty with greater confidence
Clarifying your values and priorities
Building resilience during stressful seasons
Making decisions that align with the life you're creating
My Approach
Every transition is unique because every person brings a different story, set of relationships, and life experiences.
My approach is collaborative, grounded, and practical. I draw from evidence-based therapies while tailoring our work to your goals and the season of life you're in. Whether you're facing a planned transition or one you never expected, we'll move at a pace that feels manageable and focus on helping you build a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
You don't have to have all the answers before you begin. We'll discover them together.
Your Questions, Answered
-
Not at all. Many people seek therapy during periods of change simply because they want support navigating uncertainty, making decisions, or adjusting to a new season of life.
-
I work with teens (16+) and adults navigating many different transitions, including career changes, relationship changes, parenthood, empty nesting, college and young adulthood, caregiving, retirement, and other major life adjustments.
-
That's more common than many people realize. Joy and grief, excitement and fear can all exist at the same time. Therapy offers space for all of those experiences without judgment.
-
That depends on your goals. Some people find a few months of support helpful during a transition, while others choose to continue therapy as they settle into their next chapter.
-
You don't have to come in with everything figured out. Part of therapy is making space to better understand what's happening and discovering what support will be most helpful moving forward.
Finding New Ground
Life transitions rarely come with clear directions. They ask us to leave behind what is familiar before we fully understand what comes next.
Finding new ground doesn't mean having all the answers. It means learning to trust yourself through the uncertainty, making space for both what you've lost and what you're becoming, and taking the next step—even when the path ahead isn't fully visible.
Ready for the next chapter?
Change can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to navigate it alone.
Whether you're facing an expected transition or one you never saw coming, therapy can provide a steady place to pause, reflect, and move forward with greater confidence.
